Ok, day 2 with making a home brew.
And because I had lots of writing to get caught up on I made some whole grain toast w/cashew butter. The stuff tastes great but it tough to spread on toast.
We needed a break so we headed out to one of our favorite haunts Arturo's for lunch. Dan made us one of his special poached pear salads and added an extra special touch when you shared with us some of us 25 year old balsamic vinegar. Then Kim and I split one of his specials, cavatelli w/truffle oil and shitake mushrooms.
In the afternoon I felt like a snack so I opted for some coffee which did the trick. Just a little leftover home brew warmed with 1% and one Sweet & Low.
And dinner was pretty easy since I had taken a little break earlier in the day to prep for dinner. Nothing fancy just some turkey kielbasi over sauerkraut and a little left over dressing from Thanksgiving.
I still hadn't gotten around to making my batch of healthy oatmeal cookies so I decided to eat three of Jen's with a glass of 1% milk. So instead of fretting about thinking I shouldn't be eating them, I ate them very slowly, enjoying every bite.
But I must admit that I did find it a little ironic that just as I settled into the couch to enjoy my cookies, milk and TV, what was about to come on, The Biggest Loser! I observed the irony and chuckled to myself, ate my cookies slowly and best of all, I was so inspired by everyone's amazing weight loss success that I managed to stay awake right to the very end and see Danny Cahill become The Biggest Loser having dropped 239 lbs in just 6 and 1/2 months. That means he burned over 836,500 calories.
I've said it many times before but I really think that this time, it's not only for real, it's for life!
